When clinical and laboratory parameters at diagnosis were compared between severe necroinflammatory activity (G 3–4) and non-severe (G 0–2) in liver histology, TB (3.2 vs. 11.0 mg/dl, p < 0.05), IL-21 (211.7 vs. 414.9 pg/ml, p < 0.01) and CCL20 (55.4 vs. 329.3 pg/ml, p < 0.01) were significantly higher in the severe group.
