KLK3 and prostate cancer: It was found that from day 1 of the experiment, there was a gradual increase in serum PSA when compared to the control; on day 6 of the experiment, a very high level of PSA was observed, which showed statistically significant increase (P < 0.0001), suggesting that infection of the prostate epithelium and exposure to LPS may mediate state of local epithelial chronic inflammatory condition that may interfere with prostatic epithelial cell phenotype and result in prostate-cancer-like behavior in vivo in murine model.
