NUCLEOLIN and infection: This hypothesis is supported by several results obtained in conditions of infection such as (i) the relocalization of endogenous Nucleolin in subnuclear compartments in which vRNPs components NP (Fig. 2) and PB1 (Supplementary Figure 2C) are also accumulated, (ii) the detection of vRNA within immunoprecipitated Nucleolin-NP complex (Fig. 3C) and (iii) the silencing of endogenous nucleolin expression that led to an altered nuclear trafficking of vRNPs and a consecutive significant delay in viral production (Fig. 4).
