The main laboratory recording abnormalities at the time of the diagnosis were anemia which was detected in 88.2% of the patients (hemoglobin level average of 11 g/dL with a range between 9.7 and 12.4 g/dL) and an increasing of C-reactive protein with an average level of 51.8 mg/L (range: 2.3–136.7 mg/L).
