RAC1 and urinary tract infection: Nevertheless, the point estimate for nitrofurantoin, as a proxy for urinary tract infections, was similar to a recent study investigating the influence of pravastatin on incident urinary tract infection among adults with persistent microalbuminuria, a condition associated with elevated Rac1 activation,50 in a randomized setting (aSR 0.85 vs HR 0.83).51 The effect against specific types of infections and the generalizability of our findings to other high‐risk patient groups deserves further investigation.
