The GABAergic post-synaptic marker GABARAP involved in GABA (A) receptor clustering/transport [60] showed reduced expression of the 17 kDa GABARAP isoform of approximately 40 % (P < 0.001, uncorrected) when compared to control and of the 14 kDa GABARAP isoform of approximately 30 % (P < 0.001, uncorrected) in DLB; in AD the 17 kDa isoform was reduced to a lesser extent by about 15 % (P < 0.001, uncorrected) and the 14 kDa isoform by 20 % (P < 0.001, uncorrected) when compared to controls (see Table 2). Here, GABARAP is linked to Lewy body dementia.
