In patients of the CALCITOP study, however, the corresponding increase in circulating 1,25(OH)2D levels was only 0.7 pmol/l [21], whereas several clinical parameters such as kidney function, EuroSCORE (a surgical risk score), diabetes, CRP, and diuretic use were inversely correlated with circulating 1,25(OH)2D levels in these patients.
