Among the other genes differentially regulated in vivo and associated with the carbohydrate metabolism, we found that genes encoding the ribose-5-phosphate isomerase (CDR2209) and the transketolase (CDR2210-2211) involved in the pentose phosphate pathway and in connection with the glycolytic pathway, respectively, were upregulated early (4-6h) and late (38h) during infection (Table D in S1 File). This evidence concerns the gene TKT and infection.
