The effects of miR146a on endogenous FANCM expression was further confirmed by comparing its protein levels in two human cancer cell lines, HeLa and U2OS (osteosarcoma) cells, and two human gastric cell lines, HGC-27 (carcinoma) and GES-1 (immortalized normal) cells, after transfecting the cells with miR146a or a negative control miRNA. The gene discussed is FANCM; the disease is osteosarcoma.
