DDX4 and primary ovarian failure: Interestingly, genes involved in primordial follicle formation were also highly correlated including TEX14 (R2 = 0.91, P-value = 0.004), a component of intercellular bridges in germ cell cysts [27,28], DDX4 (R2 = 0.92, P-value = 0.004), the human ortholog of Vasa [29,30], and FMR1 (R2 = 0.97, P-value = 0.004), an RNA-binding protein associated with premature ovarian failure [31,32], among others.
