Our group previously found that Cav-1 induction promotes hormone resistance in mouse PCa cells [13] and that Cav-1 inhibition and castration synergistically inhibit tumor growth in orthotopic models of these cells [28], but to our knowledge, this is the first report showing that Cav-1 upregulation promoted tumor growth under androgen deprivation in a transgenic mouse model and that castration increased its expression. Here, CAV1 is linked to neoplasm.
