To further characterize the properties of cell-cell junctions, we examined localization of transcription factors that are known to be regulated by the junctional adhesion complexes and may contribute to tumor progression, such as YAP1, which is involved in the signaling pathways regulated by adherens junction formation and cadherin-catenin interactions [29], and ZONAB (ZO-1 interacting protein and transcription factor, gene symbol YBX3) [30, 31]. The gene discussed is TJP1; the disease is neoplasm.
