Many previous works described that increased expression of CD133 from tumor tissues was correlated with poor prognosis in colorectal cancer [30], ovarian cancer [31], non-small cell lung cancer [32], gastric cancer [33], cholangiocarcinoma [34], and pancreatic cancer [35], in agreement with the results in HCC of this study. This evidence concerns the gene PROM1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
