In short, by neutralizing the biological influence of the fusion transcript and protein, PAX3-FKHR (FOXO1) and targeting the pathways that impose both a block in differentiation and facilitate proliferation, we should be able to convert this aggressive and lethal form of ARMS to a more benign and indolent state and prevent recurrent disease. This evidence concerns the gene FOXO1 and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.
