Indeed, 7 out of 14 datasets in the Oncomine database display a >2 fold up-regulated of HMGB1 (p<0.05) for the cancer v normal comparison for colorectal cancer, while, one of the four cohorts detailed on Prognoscan (contributed by Staub) displays a statistical significant association between the levels of HMGB1 and clinical outcome (high levels of HMGB1 being associated with a poor prognosis. Here, HMGB1 is linked to cancer.
