We have previously documented that: ì) the short Ser88-Arg-Ser-Arg-Tyr92 chemotactic sequence of SuPAR stimulates in vitro and in vivo angiogenesis even in the form of synthetic linear peptide SRSRY [21]; ìì) chondrosarcoma Sarc cells release a large amount of SuPAR in the medium [8]; ììì) peptide inhibitors of the uPAR/FPR1 interaction inhibit angiogenesis [27]. The gene discussed is FPR1; the disease is chondrosarcoma.
