When looking at OS by surrogate intrinsic molecular subtypes, a statistically significant difference between study and control group was observed only in the ER positive/HER-2 negative subtype (p 0.0046, Figure 2); this difference remained statistically significant when the analysis was restricted to breast cancer mortality (9% breast cancer mortality at 10-yr in the study group vs 6% in the control group, p = 0.045). This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and breast carcinoma.
