After adjustments for the confounding factors of total energy, fat density, age, gender, BMI, waist, albumin, hemoglobin, lymphocyte count, smoking, alcohol use, exercise, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension, the LS means of the total protein density (LMM:14.5%, normal:15.5%) and vegetable protein density (LMM:7.0%, normal:8.2%) were significantly lower in the LMM group compared to the normal group (p = 0.008 and p = 0.002, respectively) (Figure 1).
