In another study it was found that silencing of RHOBTB1 in the colon cancer cell line HT29 mimics the effects of increased miR-31 expression, namely increase of cell proliferation and promotion of cell clonal growth, suggesting that downregulation of RHOBTB1 is responsible for the tumor-promoting effects of miR-31 [33]. This evidence concerns the gene RHOBTB1 and colonic neoplasm.
