Because 70 % of our study participants were insulin resistant, it ispossible that the plateau in plasma TAG at 6 h is a result of their insulin resistance.These data are supported by the report that the postprandial plasma TAG concentration wasfound to plateau or peak at 6 h in individuals with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, afterconsumption of a mixed meal containing 62 g fat(55).
