Currently available immunomodulatory therapies for MS include injectable medications such as interferon (IFN)-β (betaseron®, extavia®, avonex®, rebif®) and glatiramer acetate (copaxone), oral medications such as fingolimod (gilenya®) dimethyl fumarate (tecfidera®) and teriflunomide (aubagio®), and infused medications such as natalizumab (tysabri®), alemtuzumab (lemtradaTM), and mitoxantrone (novantrone®; Table 1).
