Whilst Alzheimer’s disease is the most prevalent tauopathy, this group of disorders also includes progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration, Pick’s disease, and frontotemporal lobar degeneration with tau pathology (Lee et al., 2001; Goedert and Spillantini, 2011). Here, MAPT is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
