Whilst Alzheimer’s disease is the most prevalent tauopathy, this group of disorders also includes progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration, Pick’s disease, and frontotemporal lobar degeneration with tau pathology (Lee et al., 2001; Goedert and Spillantini, 2011). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is frontotemporal dementia.
