At the periphery of our network, apart from a set of rather expected regulators whose relation to cancer is well known (FOS, JUN, EGR1 and MYC) we find a set of secondary metabolism related genes including HSD17B2, a gene that is involved in lipid biosynthesis that has been shown to have a prognostic role in colorectal cancer [36]. This evidence concerns the gene FOS and colorectal cancer.
