Fig 2 shows the distribution of cumulative mortality from BCa, other cancer, cardiovascular disease and other causes for women in the highest and lowest categories of CRP, AGC, and G/L ratio. When accounting for other causes of death as competing risks, we found higher BCa mortality rates over time in women in the top CRP and GLR categories compared to the lowest, but no statistically significance difference was observed (Gray’s test: P ≥0.05). Similar but stronger associations for the three inflammatory markers were found for cardiovascular death (Fig 2). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is cancer.
