Bevacizumab (Avastin, Roche), a recombinant monoclonal antibody that binds to all subtypes of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), has been shown to induce effective regression of retinal neovascularization secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) [6–8]. Here, VEGFA is linked to proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
