IL6 and acute myocardial infarction: In experimental models of acute myocardial infarction, TLR4 mutant mice showed a reduction of infarct size, decreased activation of NF-κB and AP-1, and lower myocardial mRNA levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), monocyte chemotactic factor-1 (MCP-1), and interleukin-6 (IL-6), in comparison with wild-type mice [75].
