TEK and cancer: JQ1-treated xenografts showed lower levels of Tie2 and NRP, involved in vascular stabilization and branching and promotion of arterial growth.38 Conversely, there was a higher expression of EFNB2/ephrinB2 (Figure 6b), described as a regulator of arterial/venous specialization and vessel branching.38 Collectively, this indicates that JQ1 could impair the early steps of angiogenesis, a major hallmark of cancer.
