KCNH1 and glioblastoma: Eag1 is not detectable in healthy tissues except the brain, but its overexpression, not discriminating between the plasma membrane and intracellular channels, has been detected at a very high rate (>75 %) in several tumors: breast, renal and cervical carcinoma cell lines, as well as in different human malignancies, for instance, colorectal and cervical cancer, soft tissue sarcomas, acute myeloid leukemia, esophageal and gastric cancer, head and neck carcinomas, ovarian, breast, lung and prostate cancer and glioblastoma (Martínez et al. 2015 and references therein).
