Two aspects linked TASK-3 to cancer development or treatment: (1) observed migration and invasion-reducing effects of TASK-3 overexpression in breast cancer cells (Lee et al. 2012) and (2) increased apoptosis induced by TASK-3 blockers (zinc and methanandamide) in ovarian carcinoma (Innamaa et al. 2013). Here, KCNK9 is linked to breast carcinoma.
