In line with these observations, we did not detect any alterations in the gene expression of these enzymes or changes at the protein level for the eicosanoid receptors EP3, EP4, and CysLTR1. The receptors were expressed at the protein level in muscle from patients with myositis before and after treatment, suggesting that PGE2 and LT might contribute to chronic inflammation and muscle wasting and these pathways could be potential targets for new therapies. The gene discussed is PTGER4; the disease is myositis disease.
