While it is well established that KRAS activation is a mechanism of acquired resistance in colorectal cancer patients treated with EGFR-targeting monoclonal antibodies (mAbs)25, 26, 31, 32, this is to our knowledge the first report of EGFR mutant NSCLC patients acquiring activating mutations in KRAS following treatment with an EGFR TKI10, 11, 23. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
