In spite of the fact that ALPK1 slightly enforced the ability of cancer metastasis in the Lovo and A549 lung cancer cells, it was supposed that once the proliferation advantage is obtained, cancer cells may enter a second stage in which their population will expand rapidly; that is, the upregulated expression of ALPK1 may make a cancer more aggressive in this latter stage.
