Both tumor suppressing and tumor promoting roles have been assigned to LTBP2: it is downregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) [13–14], while it is upregulated in cervical, liver and ovarian cancers [15–17], and LTBP2 amplification has been reported in HNSCC [18]. This evidence concerns the gene LTBP2 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
