Using a database in the public domain (Garber lung Database [12], Oncomine, Figure 1A), we identified an approximately 8.5-fold increase of MUC1 transcript in patients with lung adenocarcinoma (N = 39) as compared to normal lung tissues, including fetal lung (N = 1) and adult lung samples (N = 5). This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and lung adenocarcinoma.
