EIF4E and neuroblastoma: In the current study, we demonstrate, for the first time, that miR-558 directly binds to the 5′-UTR of HIF-2α to facilitate its translation through recruiting Argonaute 2 (AGO2) and increasing the binding of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), thus promoting the growth, invasion, metastasis and angiogenesis of NB cells in vitro and in vivo.
