According to literature, the values of ECP are [11, 12]: higher among atopic people 48-72 hours after allergenic exposition; higher during the pollen season; correlate with Eosinophils (Eo); correlate with the severity of asthma; more useful for chronic inflammation; are not specific for asthma; higher values at rhinitis or eczema (non-asthmatic atopic people); and significant for monitoring of the treatment.
