Our present study is not in the agreement with a study by Yener et al., [41] who reported that, serum TGF-β1 levels were lower and inversely correlated with body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference, and Kinik et al., [39] who reported that obese children had lower TGF-β1 levels compared to leans and the lower TGF-β1 levels were not correlated with lipids, insulin resistance and BMI. Here, TGFB1 is linked to Insulin resistance.
