Whereas all five studies analyzing GFAP expression in the entorhinal cortex found no differences in schizophrenia, 4 of the 13 studies evaluating GFAP expression in the frontal cortex, prefrontal cortex or dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (BA9, 10 or 46) identified differences between schizophrenia and healthy controls. This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and schizophrenia.
