Our previous studies in this area have shown that TNF-α increases melanoma cell invasion and migration in vitro [16, 18] and that anti-inflammatory agents such as α-MSH (alpha-Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone) can reduce melanoma cell invasion and protect cells against pro-inflammatory cytokine attack in cells with the wild-type receptor (HBL) [16].
