For instance, recurrent mutations have been found in genes encoding DNA methyltransferase 3a (DNMT3a), ten-eleven translocation 2 (TET2) and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/2 (IDH1/IDH2) that contribute to AML pathogenesis by aberrantly regulating DNA methylation of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) [1, 5–9]. Here, TET2 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
