More recently, another study has reported that patients with the ERCC3 rs3738948 G/G or G/A genotype show a better response, and those with the ERCC5 rs2296147 TT genotype and the T allele show a significantly reduced risk of developing progressive NSCLC when receiving platinum-based chemotherapy, while advanced NSCLC patients carrying the ERCC5 rs2094258 G/G and the G allele show a significantly decreased risk of developing a progressive disease [54,59]. This evidence concerns the gene ERCC3 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
