ELISA performed on these paired samples revealed IGF1 levels of 5.2 ng/mL in the primary tumor, 5.28 ng/mL in the secondary tumor and 5.36 ng/mL in the meninges which are elevated levels relative to normal CSF (Table 1) and support the assertion that elevated IGF1 levels can occur at the leptomeningeal surface.
