Recent study by Takeda et al. (2009) had shown CCL-11 and CCL-24 expression elevated in the mice treated with laser and further neutralization of both CCL-11 and CCL-24 with antibody significantly reducing the area of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in the mouse retina, indicating its causal role in pathogenesis of AMD. This evidence concerns the gene CCL24 and choroidal neovascularization.
