SIRT6 and atherosclerosis: Detailed analysis of RNA-seq data indicated that SIRT6 overexpression decreased the expression of multiple genes involved in vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis, including PTX3 (Pentraxin 3) [35], GJA1 (gap junction A1, also known as Connexin 43) [36], and TNFSF4 (tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 4, also known as OX40 ligand) [37] (Figure 7D and Table S4).
