In addition, we found that CD8+ T cells from T. cruzi-infected mice primed with recombinant iTS exhibited a glycophenotype PNAhigh, suggesting that iTS might have been able to compete with the native aTS by serum sialoglycoproteins, compromising the expected event of re-sialylation that takes place during the acute phase of Chagas disease (Freire-de-Lima et al., 2010). Here, CD8A is linked to Chagas disease.
