Another prominent genetic association with AMD are SNPs in or near the promoter region of the high temperature required factor A1 (HTRA1) or age-related maculopathy susceptibility protein 2 (ARMS2) genes, including rs11200638 rs10490924, rs11200638 and rs2293870 on chromosome 10, which are perhaps the most well-documented genetic associate with neovascular AMD (15, 18, 19). The gene discussed is HTRA1; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
