MAP1S and cancer: In addition to other types of cancers such as ovarian cancer [23], hepatocellular carcinomas [24], human prostatic adenocarcinomas [25] and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas [26], we found that MAP1S-mediated autophagy facilitates turnover of lipid droplets to suppress the development of clear cell renal cell carcinomas (ccRCC) and similarly promotes the survival of cancer patients [27].
