PVT1 and neuroblastoma: The MYC oncogene encodes a well-characterized transcription factor that plays a role in various cancer-related processes such as cell cycle progression, cellular transformation, and apoptosis [31] making it essential that studies investigating PVT1 and its cellular mechanisms include concurrent examination of MYC. Co-amplification and expression of MYC and PVT1 has been shown to play a role in the promotion of the malignant phenotype in malignant pleural mesothelioma [25], ovarian and breast cancer [8,19], and neuroblastoma [32].
