While the general population lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is 1.4 % [1], women at high-risk of developing the disease due to their inheritance of a germline BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation have an average cumulative risk of between 40 % to 75 % and 8 % to 34 %, respectively [2–5]. Here, BRCA2 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
