SYN1 and central nervous system disorder: Since miRNAs have been implicated in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders [30,31] and alterations of synapsin I expression are known to be involved in a number of CNS disorders [34,35], a better understanding of the newly identified regulatory pathway miR-143/β-dystrobrevin/synapsin I in NT2/D1 cells may be useful in providing information that can help define specific targets for pharmacological approaches.
