TP53 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia: The finding that the elektra mutation in Slfn2 leads to the suppression of ICN1-induced T-ALL can be significantly abrogated by p53 deficiency together with the finding that downregulation of Slfn2 in EL4 cells leads to their growth inhibition led us to postulate that downregulation of Slfn2 in EL4 cells will lead to the activation of the p53 tumor suppressor in these cells.
